“Operation Clean Sweep” The
mission is to raise the awareness level among the public at large and to
demonstrate the importance of the various airports in our flying area. Secondly,
to thank the operators who are doing a great job and in the process hopefully
encourage all the operators to do a great job. And lastly to get involved by
personally making a difference by helping out with a little sweeping so the next
pilot can notice the difference. Operation
Clean Sweep is a simple process with a few basic steps that we believe will be
easy to accomplish. We also want to challenge other flying clubs across Alberta
and even across Canada to put this mission into practice. Operation
Clean Sweep has four basic principals: 1.
Even if you had just planned a touch and go, stop and sign the log book 2.
Note the condition of the facility and runways in your pilot log book 3.
If you find the facility is in tip top shape see that your club sends a
"thank you" note to the operator
-- send any info to LSF24@shaw.ca
4.
If you find the facility is in need of a clean up, find the broom and at the
very least take time to sweep the floor. Perhaps even plan a return trip with a
clean up crew. Take pictures of your clean up efforts and submit them to the LSF
Executive attention OCS at LSF24@shaw.ca
The Executive will inform the AP operator letting them know about
Operation "Clean Sweep" and how important their facility is to the
safety of the flying community. We,
the LSF Executive hope Operation: "Clean Sweep" will have a meaningful
impact on pilots and operators and increase visits to the little used airports
all across our great nation. In order for this to work please remember, we need
to be a respectful force of encouragement.
